What is the difference between Ronin Waypoint, Mavis ID, and Mavis Account?
Ronin Waypoint is currently made up of two key components: a Sky Mavis Account, and a default keyless wallet. This provides a seamless gaming experience and simple account management in addition to allowing the owner to link their account to an existing Ronin Wallet.
Mavis ID has been rebranded to Ronin Waypoint. Registering for Ronin Waypoint will enable you to perform in-game transactions like buying, minting, and swapping assets.
NOTE: If you previously registered for Mavis ID, there’s no need to re-register for Ronin Waypoint.
How to Register for a Ronin Waypoint Account
If you’re a user who signed up for Ronin Waypoint via a Ronin game, here’s what you need to know:
- To fund your keyless wallet for in-game use or to withdraw assets, you’ll need to have a Ronin Wallet address linked to your Ronin Waypoint account – learn more.
- If you can’t make in-game transactions, check that you have sufficient funds in your wallet –learn more.
- You can view and manage your assets either via the Ronin Wallet mobile app or in the browser extension on desktop – learn more.
I’m a new user, how do I sign up for Ronin Waypoint?
- Go to Ronin Waypoint and select Sign Up at the bottom of the screen. Then, select an option to register using email and password or social login, such as Facebook, Google, or Apple.
- Complete a security challenge and click Confirm.
- A 6-digit code is sent to your email. Enter the code to verify your account and complete the sign-up process.
- After you create your Ronin Waypoint account, the site will redirect you to the wallet creation page. Read carefully before selecting Set recovery password.
- Create your recovery password. This is the most crucial step as losing the recovery password is equivalent to losing your wallet, so make sure to use a strong password.
- You’re all set to start performing on-chain transactions through your Ronin Waypoint account.
I have an existing Sky Mavis account. How do I register for Ronin Waypoint?
Mavis ID has been rebranded to Ronin Waypoint.
If you have an existing account, it won’t be affected. Your existing account should automatically generate a keyless wallet address connected to your Ronin Waypoint account. Just sign in, and then you can immediately perform in-game transactions.
Here’s an example:
- Assuming you registered and created a wallet through Ronin Waypoint using an email and password with the email address “axie@gmail.com.”
- Then, if you sign in to Ronin Waypoint with the Google account “axie@gmail.com,” it won’t create a new account. A notification will guide you to visit https://accounts.skymavis.com (using email and password) to link the new login method (Google) to your account.
- Now you can sign in to Ronin Waypoint with either email and password, or social login such as Facebook, Google, or Apple.
You can only have one keyless wallet connected to your account. Once you have generated one, you can’t change or disconnect it from your account.
NOTE: Always remember to back up your recovery password! It helps you synchronize your Ronin Waypoint keyless wallet across different devices and browsers.
I have an existing account but I don’t have Mavis ID. How do I register for Ronin Waypoint?
NOTE: If you usually sign in to your account using a secret recovery phrase, this registration method is applicable.
- After signing in, you should see an option to set up a keyless wallet. Click Set up now.
- This will redirect you to the Ronin Waypoint wallet creation page. Read carefully before clicking Set recovery password.
- Create your recovery password. This is the most crucial step as losing the recovery password is equivalent to losing your wallet, so make sure to use a strong password.
- You’re all set to start performing on-chain transactions through your Ronin Waypoint account!
How to Fund Your Wallet & Start Making In-Game Transactions
Think of Ronin Waypoint as your spending account that you can use in-game or across Ronin dApps. You can make transactions in-game without a Ronin Wallet.
However, if you want to fund your keyless wallet for in-game use, you’ll need to deposit funds. This requires a Ronin Wallet address, follow these steps to sign up for Ronin Wallet.
If you already have a Ronin Wallet address, make sure it’s linked to your Ronin Waypoint account. Follow these steps to link your Ronin Wallet address to your Ronin Waypoint account.
How can I fund my keyless wallet for in-game use?
To use your tokens in-game via Ronin Waypoint, you can transfer tokens from your Ronin Wallet address to your Ronin Waypoint keyless wallet address via Ronin Wallet mobile app or browser extension.
Alternatively, you can also deposit to your Ronin Waypoint address through other methods such as transferring funds from exchanges that support Ronin Network withdrawals such as Binance Pay and Coinbase Pay.
Where can I find my Ronin Wallet address and Ronin Waypoint address?
To locate your wallet addresses, head to the account management dashboard. You can have up to 2 wallets in your account.
Where can I view and manage my assets?
You’ll have multiple options to view and manage your assets, either via the Ronin Wallet mobile app or the browser extension.
Make sure you have imported your Ronin Waypoint address to Ronin Wallet. Once you have imported your wallet to the Ronin Wallet mobile app or browser extension, you’ll be able to use it to make transactions and transfer tokens just like any other wallet.

You can also connect your Ronin Waypoint account to the Ronin App and interact with the dApps using your Ronin Waypoint address without the need to install the Ronin Wallet app/extension.
To do this, click on the Connect Wallet option, then choose Ronin Waypoint.
What are Sponsored Transactions and How Does it Work?
Ronin Waypoint’s sponsored transaction feature allows one party to pay gas fees on behalf of another. This is particularly useful in scenarios where a newly created wallet lacks sufficient funds for transaction fees or where estimating the required gas fees may be challenging. With sponsored transactions, game studios can leverage Ronin Waypoint to cover the gas fees for new users, facilitating a smoother onboarding process and benefiting both parties.
Sponsored Transactions are transactions that involve two signatures:
- The first belongs to the user
- The second belongs to the sponsor
From the user’s POV, this looks like a gas-free transaction. Submit Transaction → Confirm Transaction → Done. This makes new user onboarding easier.
On the back end, game studios are subsidizing their community members’ transactions through Ronin Waypoint. Here’s how:
Step 1: User initiates a transaction with Ronin Waypoint.
Step 2: Ronin Waypoint sends a transaction validation request to the sponsoring service.
Step 3: Sponsoring service verifies the user's eligibility for a sponsored transaction and returns the user's quota to Ronin Waypoint.
Step 4: If eligible, the fee is nullified in the UI. The user signs the transaction and sends it to the sponsoring service.
Step 5: Sponsoring service requests the payer to sign the transaction with payer’s signature.
Step 6: Payer signs the transaction, indicating its agreement to sponsor the gas fees.
Step 7: The transaction, signed by both the user and the payer, is submitted to the Ronin network.

Why did you build Ronin Waypoint?
A seamless onboarding experience remains a challenge in Web3, where the need to create separate accounts and the use of seed phrases leads to less-than-ideal new user experiences.
Ronin Waypoint solves this by unifying accounts into one login credential, in addition to enhancing security and enabling in-game transactions.
How do in-game purchases work?
It is a blockchain transaction that appears as an in-game pop-up, powered by Ronin Waypoint.
The Ronin Waypoint's embedded keyless wallet is used for the transaction (not the connected key-based wallet) by first authorizing it with the wallet's recovery password.
Are in-game purchases secure?
Ronin Waypoint is powered by MPC (Multi-Party Computation) technology. It is a cryptographic technology used to generate ultra secure keyless wallets and sign transactions.
It replaces the private key with two or more shards. One shard is stored on the user's device, the other on the Sky Mavis server. These shards are used collaboratively to sign transactions and execute Web3 operations. The private key is never fully assembled in one place, making it more secure against hacking and phishing attempts.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Never lose or share your email and wallet's recovery password as anyone who has access to both will have a way to open and authorize transactions with your wallet.
Which Ronin games currently support in-game transactions via Ronin Waypoint?
Ronin Waypoint currently supports in-game transactions for Axie Classic.

I’ve have a Ronin Waypoint account but I’m unable to make in-game purchases.
First, make sure that you have actually created a keyless wallet for Ronin Waypoint transactions either within https://id.skymavis.com; or via new Ronin wallet account creation with social login, and connecting it to your Sky Mavis account.
If you already have one but are still not able to: (1) Keep Mavis Hub opened when doing transactions with Mavis Hub games; (2) Check that you have sufficient funds in your wallet; (3) Please submit a ticket to our support team.
What is the difference between Ronin Wallet and Ronin Waypoint?
Ronin Wallet is a wallet that is used for blockchain transactions within the Ronin extension or Ronin mobile app. You may import either a key-based wallet (w/ secret recovery phrase or private key) or a keyless wallet (w/ email & recovery password) in your Ronin wallet.
On the other hand, Ronin Waypoint functions as an in-game wallet, allowing you to do transactions within a game without needing to install a mobile app or wallet extension. The Ronin Waypoint only utilizes a keyless wallet for its transactions. You will not be able to do in-game transactions with a key-based wallet.
Can I import my Ronin Waypoint keyless address to the Ronin Wallet app?
YES. The Waypoint wallet is technically the same as the Ronin wallet's social login keyless wallet -- it is the same wallet that is bound to the email connected to your Sky Mavis account. You may import your Waypoint wallet via the social login option in your Ronin Wallet mobile app or browser extension to view and manage your assets there.
Can I link other wallets to my Ronin Waypoint account?
The Ronin Waypoint keyless wallet is bound to your email. It cannot be disconnected from your account nor be changed.
If you have an existing key-based Ronin Wallet address that has a private key or secret recovery phrase, you can link it to your Ronin Waypoint account via https://accounts.skymavis.com -- by doing this, you would be able to use both assets from your keyless wallet and key-based wallet in games and apps. BUT keep in mind that you are only able to do in-app Ronin Waypoint transactions with your keyless wallet. Follow these steps to link your Ronin Wallet address to your Ronin Waypoint account.
