Continue reading for a detailed guide on how to create your very own Ronin wallet with a traditional secret recovery phrase backup.
Step 1: Tap Continue with Recovery Phrase.
Step 2: Set a passcode for unlocking the wallet on the device, then click on Continue.
Step 3: You’ll be asked to save your secret recovery phrase. Write down your recovery phrase, then click Continue.
Step 4: To make sure you saved your recovery phrase, you’ll be asked to confirm certain words on the recovery phrase. Choose the appropriate words using the saved recovery phrase as reference.
Congratulations! Your wallet has been successfully created, and you're all set to begin making transactions.
NOTE: Kindly keep in mind the importance of backing up your wallet, as it ensures that you can regain access in case of any unforeseen issues or loss of access in the future.
Checking your Recovery Phrase
If you lost your secret recovery phrase backup but still have access to the wallet on one of your devices, you can still check the secret recovery phrase on that device by following this guide.
NOTE: Please make sure you carefully read the security reminders regarding keeping your secret recovery phrase safe. Only you should know your recovery phrase, do not share it with anyone else.
Adding New Addresses
Step 1: Once you have created your wallet, simply tap on the wallet details at the top to access the wallet switcher screen. From there, click on Add & Manage Wallets.
Step 2: Under the wallet you would like to add a new address to, click on Add address.
Step 3: You will see a new address added under the wallet.
NOTE: Each wallet has a specific list of generated new addresses, in a specific order. This means that if you import the wallet on a different device, you'll only need to add addresses again to restore the addresses you've already added on other devices. The same addresses will be restored in the same order, no matter what device you add additional addresses on.
Creating Wallet with Email Address or Social Account
Creating your Ronin Wallet with an email or social account backup is a straightforward process. Let's begin!
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE: This option will allow you to create only one wallet and you will not be able to create additional sub-wallets. However, you may import more wallets after initial setup. It is also important to note that your email will be locked into this wallet, you will not be able to remove it or use it on other wallets or Sky Mavis accounts.
Step 1: Decide whether you’d like to use your email address or a social account and then select your preferred method.
-
Email Address
- Tap Continue with Email. This will direct you to a Sky Mavis account page where you will need to enter your email and verify the ownership of the email address you provided.
-
Social Account [Apple, Google and Facebook]
- Tap the preferred social account you want to use for your Ronin wallet. You'll then be directed to sign into your social account to verify your ownership of that account.
Step 2: Set a passcode for unlocking the wallet on the device, then click on Continue.
Step 3: Create a recovery password for your wallet. Enter your preferred password and confirm that you understand that Sky Mavis cannot recover this password for you by ticking the checkbox. Click Confirm.
Congratulations! Your wallet has been successfully created, and you're all set to begin making transactions.
Recovery Password
If you forgot your recovery password but still have access to the wallet on one of your devices, you can still check the recovery password on that device by following this guide.
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE: If you forget your Recovery Password and you already lost access to your wallet, Sky Mavis cannot recover or reset the Recovery Password for you and you will not be able to recover your wallet and the assets inside.
Forgot Your Recovery Password?
• If you've lost your device, forgotten your PIN, or accidentally reset your device/Ronin wallet, you'll need your Recovery Password to recover your wallet.
• If you forgot your Recovery Password, there is no way to recover your assets. Sky Mavis will not be able to recover your Recovery Password for you.
• If you would like to create a new wallet again using the email/social account feature, you will need to use a new email address or social account, as you will not be able to use the email address or social account associated with the wallet you've lost access to.
Importing an Existing Wallet
If you have an existing Ronin wallet, you may import it to the Ronin Wallet extension. The Ronin Wallet extension also supports the use of up to three regular wallets [with recovery phrase], one wallet created with an email address/social account, and multiple wallets imported via private keys, so you can add more wallets after the initial setup.
You have three options to import a wallet - via Social Login, Recovery Phrase/Private Key, and Hardware Wallet. You may also choose to add a View-only address, but this only allows you to check the wallet balances and will not allow you to make any transactions.
Importing via Social Login

You’ll be redirected to a page to verify email address ownership or to the login page of the social account, depending on what you choose. Follow the directions on the screen depending on the option you have selected.
Step 2: You'll be asked to enter your recovery password, and then click Confirm.

Congratulations! Your wallet has been successfully imported, and you're all set to begin making transactions.

Adding More Wallets
With the Ronin Wallet, you can have up to 3 regular wallets [made using a secret recovery phrase], up to 1 keyless wallet [made using email/social accounts], and an unlimited number of private key wallets.
Adding more wallets means you have to keep track of more recovery phrases, recovery passwords, or private keys. Make sure you understand that you will have to keep track of more information before proceeding with this.
Step 1: To add additional wallets, tap the wallet details on top to open the wallet switcher screen. Click on Add & Manage Wallets.
Step 2: Choose whether you would like to import an existing wallet, or create a new one.
If you choose Import Existing Wallet, follow the instructions for importing a wallet.
- Importing via Email/Social Accounts
- Importing via Secret Recovery Phrase/Private Key
- Importing via Hardware Wallet
- Importing a View-Only Address
If you choose Create New Wallet, follow the instructions for creating a wallet.
NOTE: If you are importing/creating additional wallets, you won't be asked to set up an extension passcode. You will be asked to confirm your existing passcode instead. The same extension passcode that you have set up when importing/creating the first wallet will be used to unlock all of the additional wallets.
