The process of setting up your Ledger device is straightforward, and you can easily complete it by following the instructions provided in the Ledger Live app's guide.
Downloading Ledger Live
To utilize your Ledger device, it is necessary to have Ledger Live installed on your device. You can download it by visiting the following link: https://www.ledger.com/start. Click the 'Download' button and select the appropriate version based on your device's operating system (OS).
Once you have downloaded the Ledger Live app, proceed with the installation and follow the step-by-step instructions provided within the app to complete the setup of your Ledger device. Once you see the Ledger Live dashboard, this indicates that you have successfully finished setting up your Ledger.
Preparing Ledger for Ronin Wallet
Prior to connecting your Ledger to your Ronin Wallet, it is necessary to install the Ethereum app on your Ledger device. Please follow these steps to install the Ethereum app:
Step 1: Connect your Ledger to your device and open Ledger Live.
Step 2: Select 'Manager' and allow Ledger Manager on your device.
Step 3: Find 'Ethereum(ETH)' in the app catalogue and click Install.
Connecting Ledger to your Ronin Wallet (PC)
Please note that Ledger is only compatible with Google Chrome and will not show up as an option in Firefox.
To connect your Ledger hardware wallet to your Ronin Wallet extension, follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1: Open your Ronin Wallet and ensure that your Ledger is connected to your device.
Step 2: Click the “Profile” icon (see image below).
Step 3: Select “Connect Hardware Wallet”. This should open up a new tab.
Step 4: Click the space labeled "Ledger".
Step 5: Make sure your Ledger is connected to your device, and unlock it with your PIN.
Step 6: Open the Ethereum app on your Ledger. You will always need to have the Ethereum app open whenever you are using the Ronin Wallet with Ledger).
Step 7: Click 'Connect Wallet'.
Step 8: Select the Ledger device and click on 'Connect'.
Step 9: After connecting your Ledger device to your Ronin Wallet, you will be presented with a list of addresses. Simply select the address you wish to import into your Ronin wallet. Once selected, the address will be added to your list of addresses within the Ronin extension. If you are connecting a new Ledger device, you can choose the first address from the list.
Note: Click the 'Next' button to view/import an address from the next list.
Connecting Ledger to Your Ronin Wallet (Mobile)
Please note that the Ronin mobile wallet is only compatible with Ledger Nano X at the moment.
To connect your Ledger wallet to your Ronin mobile wallet, follow the steps outlined below:
Step 1: Enable Bluetooth on both your mobile and Ledger device.
Step 2: Open the Ethereum app on your Ledger device (you will always need to have the Ethereum app open whenever you are using the Ronin mobile wallet with Ledger).
Step 3: Go to settings in the Ronin mobile wallet app.
Step 4: Tap "Connect" on the tab labeled 'Hardware Wallet'.
Note: (Android) If your device is taking too long to detect your Ledger Nano X, please try enabling Locations in Apps > Ronin Wallet > App Permissions.
Step 5: Select the Ledger device and press "Start".
Step 6: Select the Ledger device again.
Step 7: Tap "Start Pairing".
Step 8: A list of addresses will be displayed. Select the specific address you wish to import, and it will be added to your list of addresses within the Ronin mobile wallet. In the case of connecting a new Ledger device, you can choose the first address from the list.
Note: Only click the "Next" button if you wish to use an address located on the next list.
Step 9: Upon successfully connecting and importing a wallet address from your Ledger device to your Ronin mobile wallet, you should see a visual representation similar to the following screenshot:
