The Ronin Wallet allows users to connect to custom RPC networks for enhanced flexibility and control. This guide walks you through enabling Developer Mode and adding a Custom RPC network to your Ronin Mobile Wallet.
NOTE: The Custom RPC network enable is only available in the Ronin mobile wallet as of the time of writing. It will be available in the Ronin wallet extension in future updates.
Enabling Developer Mode
To add a custom RPC network, Developer Mode must first be enabled.
-
Open the Ronin Mobile Wallet app.
-
Navigate to Settings.
-
Scroll down and select Developer Settings.
-
Toggle Enable Dev-Mode to activate it.
Adding Custom RPC Network
Once Dev-mode is enabled, follow the steps below to add a Custom RPC.
-
In the Settings > Developer Settings > Enable Dev-mode [toggled on], click on Custom RPC.
-
Toggle Enable Custom RPC to allow adding custom networks.
-
Tap on + Add more to open the Add Custom RPC page.
-
Enter the following details:
-
Network Name: A descriptive name for the RPC network.
-
New RPC URL: The endpoint of the custom RPC server.
Only trust custom networks from reliable sources to avoid risks. Malicious providers can falsify blockchain states and track your activity. -
Chain ID: The unique identifier for the blockchain network.
Adding a valid RPC URL will sometimes automatically input the Chain ID. -
Currency Symbol: The native currency of the network (e.g., RON for Ronin, ETH for Ethereum).
-
Block Explorer URL (Optional): A URL to the block explorer for transaction tracking.
In this example, let's try adding the Immutable Mainnet as custom RPC.
-
-
Tap Add (or Save when editing) to finalize and add the custom RPC network.
- You should now be able to see the custom network in the available Switch Network options in the Ronin Wallet home page.
NOTE: Adding a network on one device does not mean it will appear on another device when accessing the same account. If you add it on your browser's Ronin wallet extension, it will not automatically be added to your Ronin Mobile app, and vice versa.
Additionally, custom networks will also need to be reconfigured if you reinstall your wallet.
Verifying the Connection
After adding the custom RPC, ensure it is working properly.
-
Go to the Ronin wallet home page and switch to that network.
-
Try sending a small transaction to confirm network functionality.
- If you encounter errors, proceed with the troubleshooting guide below.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter connection issues with your Custom RPC:
-
Navigate to Settings > Developer Settings > Custom RPC.
-
Check if the newly added network is listed in the CUSTOM RPC LIST.
- If edits are necessary, click on the pencil icon to start editing your custom RPC.
- Ensure the RPC URL is correct and active.
- Also double-check the Chain ID.
Hit Save to finalize edits.
If transactions fail, re-verify the network settings and check the Block Explorer for errors.
