Ronin Wallet offers a built-in swap feature for quick and easy token exchanges, but there are also several third-party platforms that support swaps on the Ronin network. This article provides an overview of third-party swap platforms, potential issues users may face, and where to seek support when needed.
Important Reminders
- Always verify the legitimacy of any platform before interacting with it. Do your own research and check the legitimacy of a dApp before connecting your wallet and making your first transaction, especially for dApps developed by a third party.
- Never share your Secret Recovery Phrase. Ronin Wallet support will never ask for it. Keep in mind that you should not be required to input your Seed phrase anywhere unless it’s your first time setting up the wallet.
- Some platforms may have different fee structures, liquidity sources, and swap mechanics, which can affect the final amount you receive.
Third-Party Swap Platforms
If you need to swap tokens outside of Katana Dex and Ronin Wallet's built-in swap feature, here are some example third-party platforms that may support swaps using Ronin Network:
These platforms are not officially from us, so please do your own research if you decide to use them.
Additionally, centralized exchanges (CEXs) like Binance, Crypto.com, and Gate.io support Ronin-based tokens, but the process of transferring funds is different from using a DEX.
IMPORTANT NOTE: As Ronin opens up, there will be more exchange/swap dApps from third-party developers. Always do your own research and check the legitimacy of the dApps before using them.
Bridging Assets to Ronin Network
If the token you want to swap isn’t directly supported on the mentioned platforms, you may need to swap it on another DEX first, then use a bridge to move it to Ronin. Some bridges that support transfers to Ronin Network include:
- Ronin Bridge – The official bridge for moving assets between Ethereum and Ronin.
- CCIP Bridge - Crosschain bridge that allows token transfers between different networks.
- Layerswap – A service that allows fast transfers from multiple blockchains to Ronin.
⚠ Always verify that the bridge supports the specific token you’re transferring before initiating a transaction. Using an unsupported token may result in lost funds.
By utilizing external DEXs alongside bridges, users can access a wider range of trading options while still keeping their assets within the Ronin ecosystem.
DEXs vs CEXs: What’s the Difference?
Decentralized Exchanges (DEXs)
A DEX, like Katana, allows users to trade directly from their wallets without intermediaries. These exchanges run on smart contracts, meaning users retain full control of their funds. There’s no need to create an account or go through a verification process.
Centralized Exchanges (CEXs)
A CEX, like Binance or Crypto.com, operates more like a traditional financial institution. Users deposit funds into the exchange, which then manages trades on their behalf. While CEXs may offer convenience and fiat onramps, they also require users to trust the platform with their assets.
Common Issues When Swapping Tokens
Price Impact
Price impact refers to the effect your trade has on the market price of a token. When trading on DEXs like Katana, large swaps may cause significant price fluctuations, especially for low-liquidity tokens.
