This guide is for businesses that have purchased an RNS name and would like to upgrade their name to the business tier or business that would like to claim a protected name as it belongs to their brand.
In either case you must verify your business using one of the two methods below.
Submit your legal trademark registration number
You can submit your legal trademark in an email to email@example.com, this should include:
- Trademark name or image
- Country it was registered in
- Trademark registration number
We will then reach out to the person or company listed as the holder to confirm its legitimate ownership.
Please note that verification through verification of your trademark is a slow process and becomes subject to long delays, each country also handles trademarks differently so there is a chance that not all names will be able to be verified.
Verify with DNS record
We can also verify your RNS name by matching it to a DNS name you own. For example, if you are trying to claim the RNS name example.com and own the domain example.com we use that.
In this case, you will need to submit a request and provide the required information (brand name, domain to verify, ronin address, email, etc).
The process is a two-step process:
- Submit a request at URL
- Wait for an email with your unique token. Once you receive the email add that token as a TXT record to your domain.
You can verify the DNS record has been entered correctly by using an online tool to look up the TXT records for your domain.
After this process is complete, you will need to await a final confirmation email from our side.
