- Create a New Wallet

NOTE: Ronin wallets previously created using the seed phrase backup method will not be able to use the social account restoration feature. If this applies to you and you wish to use the social account restoration feature, you will need to create a new wallet.
Creating Wallet with Secret Recovery Phrase
Continue reading for a detailed guide on how to create your very own Ronin wallet with a traditional secret recovery phrase backup.
Step 1: Tap Continue with Recovery Phrase.
Step 2: Confirm whether you would like to use Biometrics to unlock your wallet. If you choose Enable Biometric ID, you'll be asked by your device to allow the app to use biometrics.
If you choose not to use Biometrics by pressing Skip, you'll be asked to create a PIN instead. Your PIN will allow you to unlock your wallet, and grant other in-wallet permissions.
Step 3: Congratulations! Your wallet has been successfully created, and you're all set to begin making transactions.
NOTE: Kindly keep in mind the importance of backing up your wallet, as it ensures that you can regain access in case of any unforeseen issues or loss of access in the future.
Backup for Recovery Phrase Wallets
Once you've created your wallet, prioritize backing it up. This precautionary step ensures that you'll have the means to recover your wallet should you ever lose access to your Ronin wallet in the future.
Manual Backup
Step 1: After creating your wallet, you'll be prompted to back it up manually or through cloud services. Choose Back up manually. Verify your identity using biometrics means or by entering your PIN.
Step 2: You'll be provided with your secret recovery phrase. It's important to take the time to either write it down securely or save it in a location that's accessible to you alone. Once you've done that, simply press I understand, Continue!
Step 3: You'll then be prompted to verify the accuracy of your secret recovery phrase backup by answering questions related to the words from the recovery phrase.
Step 4: After successfully responding to all the questions, you'll receive a confirmation message. Please remember to keep your backup safe and readily available in case of any unexpected situations where you might lose access to your wallet.
NOTE: If you chose to skip the backup process or to backup using cloud services, you can review your recovery phrase at any time by clicking Show Secret Recovery Phrase in the wallet's settings menu. Please note however that this menu is only accessible while you have access to your wallet.
Cloud Backup
Step 1: After creating your wallet, a prompt will appear, giving you the option to select your preferred backup method - either via cloud services or a manual backup. Select the option labeled Back up on iCloud/Google Drive.
Step 2: Enter a password for your backup. This will safeguard your recovery phrase in the cloud. Check the box to confirm your understanding that Sky Mavis cannot assist in recovering this password, and then proceed by clicking Next.
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE: The password for your cloud backup is very important. Without this password, you won't be able to recover your wallet using the backup.
Step 3: You'll be asked to verify yourself via biometrics or PIN. Once verified, your backup will be made and you'll receive a confirmation message.
NOTE: If you chose to skip the backup using cloud services, you can create a cloud backup at any time by clicking Show Secret Recovery Phrase in the settings menu, and then clicking the Backup now button.
Adding New Addresses
Step 1: Once you have created your wallet, simply tap on the wallet details at the top to access the wallet switcher screen. From there, click on Add & Manage Wallets.
Step 2: Under the wallet you would like to add a new address to, click on Add address.
Step 3: You will see a new address added under the wallet.
NOTE: Each wallet has a specific list of generated new addresses, in a specific order. This means that if you import the wallet on a different device, you'll only need to add addresses again to restore the addresses you've already added on other devices. The same addresses will be restored in the same order, no matter what device you add additional addresses on.
Creating Wallet with Email Address or Social Account
Creating your Ronin Wallet with an email or social account backup is a straightforward process. Let's begin!
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE: This option will allow you to create only one wallet and you will not be able to create additional sub-wallets. However, you may import more wallets after initial setup.
Step 1: Decide whether you’d like to use your email address or a social account and then select your preferred method.
- Email Address
- Tap Continue with Email. This will direct you to a Sky Mavis account page where you will need to enter your email and verify the ownership of the email address you provided.
- Social Account [Apple, Google and Facebook]
- Tap the preferred social account you want to use for your Ronin wallet. You'll then be directed to sign into your social account to verify your ownership of that account.
Step 2: Create a recovery password for your wallet. Enter your preferred password and confirm that you understand that Sky Mavis cannot recover this password for you by checking the tick box. Click Next.
Step 3: Confirm whether you would like to use Biometrics to unlock your wallet. If you choose Enable Biometric ID, you'll be asked by your device to allow the app to use biometrics.
If you choose not to use Biometrics by pressing Skip, you'll be asked to set up a PIN instead.
Step 4: Once you see your wallet page, you're ready to go! You may now use your wallet to purchase and store assets on the blockchain.
Recovery Password
⚠ IMPORTANT NOTE: If you forget your Recovery Password and you lose access to your wallet, Sky Mavis cannot recover or reset the Recovery Password for you and you will not be able to recover your wallet and the assets inside.
Checking/Changing your Recovery Password
Step 1: As long as the social account wallet can be accessed in the Ronin Wallet app, you can check the Recovery Password at any time by clicking the Secret Recovery Password option on the wallet's settings page.
Step 2: You'll be asked to verify yourself via biometrics or PIN, and then you'll be directed to a page where you could check your Recovery Password. Click the eye icon to reveal the password.
If you want to change your recovery password, click the Change Password button on this screen.
Forgot Your Recovery Password?
• If you've lost your device, forgotten your PIN, or accidentally reset your device/Ronin wallet, you'll need your Recovery Password to recover your wallet.
• If you forgot your Recovery Password, there is no way to recover your assets. Sky Mavis will not be able to recover your Recovery Password for you.
• If you would like to create a new wallet again using the email/social account feature, you will need to use a new email address or social account, as you will not be able to use the email address or social account associated with the wallet you've lost access to.
Importing an Existing Wallet
If you have an existing Ronin wallet, you may import it to the Ronin Wallet app. The Ronin Wallet app also supports the use of up to three regular wallets [with recovery phrase], one wallet created with email/social account, and multiple wallets imported via private keys, so you can add more wallets after the initial setup.
You have three options to import a wallet - via Cloud backup, secret recovery phrase, or email/social accounts.
Importing via Cloud Backup
Step 2: Enter the backup password to decrypt the secret recovery phrase from the backup, then click Next.
NOTE: The backup password is the password you set when you created the backup. Without the backup password, you cannot recover the wallet.
Step 3: Confirm whether or not you would like to use Biometrics to unlock your wallet. If you choose Enable Biometric ID, you'll be asked by your device to allow the app to use biometrics.
If you choose not to use Biometrics by pressing Skip, you'll be asked to set up a PIN instead.
Step 4: Once you see your wallet page, you're ready to go! Your wallet is successfully imported.
Importing via Secret Recovery Phrase
Step 1: After selecting Continue with recovery phrase on the import screen, you'll be asked to enter your recovery phrase. Click Import once you have entered your recovery phrase.
Step 2: Confirm whether or not you would like to use Biometrics to unlock your wallet. If you choose Enable Biometric ID, you'll be asked by your device to allow the app to use biometrics.

Step 3: Once you see the wallet details screen, your wallet has been successfully imported! You may begin using your wallet for your blockchain transactions.
Importing via Email/Social Accounts
Step 1: After selecting the continue with email or the social account options on the import screen, you'll be directed to verify ownership of the email via verification code, or to log in on your social account. Follow the directions on the screen depending on the option you have selected.
Step 2: You'll be redirected to the wallet import screen after successfully verifying your email/logging into your social account. Enter your recovery password, and then click Next.
NOTE: The recovery password is the password you inputted when you created the wallet. Without the recovery password, you cannot recover your wallet.
Step 4: Once you see the wallet details screen, your wallet has been successfully imported! You may now use your wallet to make transactions.
Importing via Private Key
To import a wallet via private key, you have to have an existing recovery phrase/social account wallet first. If you do not have either wallet type, you must create one first.
Step 1: Once you have accessed your wallet, tap the wallet details on top to open the wallet switcher screen. Click on Add & Manage Wallets.
Step 2: Click on Import Existing Wallet.
Step 3: Select Import Private Key.
Step 4: Copy the private key, then click on Paste from clipboard to enter the private key into the wallet. Click Import.
Step 5: You'll then see the imported wallet be added under the External section on the wallet list.
NOTE: This does not add the wallet to the other wallets on the app, it only adds access to the wallet on the device you set it up on. If you need to recover this wallet in the future, you will need the private key again.
Adding More Wallets
With the Ronin Wallet, you can have up to 3 regular wallet [wallet made using a secret recovery phrase], up to 1 keyless wallet [wallet made using email/social accounts], and unlimited number of private key wallets.
Adding more wallets means you have to keep track of more recovery phrases, recovery passwords, or private keys. Make sure you understand that you will have to keep track of more information before proceeding with this.
Step 1: To add additional wallets, tap the wallet details on top to open the wallet switcher screen. Click on Add & Manage Wallets.
Step 2: Choose whether you would like to import an existing wallet, or create a new one.
If you choose Import Existing Wallet, follow the instructions for importing a wallet.
- Importing via Cloud Backup
- Importing via Secret Recovery Phrase
- Importing via Email/Social Accounts
- Importing via Private Key
If you choose Create New Wallet, follow the instructions for creating a wallet.
NOTE: If you are importing/creating additional wallets, you won't be asked to set up biometrics or PIN anymore. The same PIN/biometrics that you have set up when importing/creating the first wallet will be used to unlock all of the additional wallets.
